To be in the creative is to be authentic. This series of workshops offers the opportunity to create a shamanically empowered item within a ceremonial container. These energetically charged items may be used for your spiritual practice - or serve as a meditation for the simple act of being in present time. The participant may choose to use this expression as a "give away" something made with love and intention, to be lovingly passed on to a friend.
We will call upon the forces and allies of the Pachakuti Mesa Tradition (PMT), a Peruvian cross-cultural shamanic tradition, to aid our work.
Materials supplied but a participant materials list will be sent out prior to class.
This new fall series will meet once monthly:
Saturdays: 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
October 15: The Vara Mama Killa: Creating a Sacred Staff to Connect with the Powers of the Moon
Join us Saturday, October 15 to commune with the "Queen of Heaven", our beautiful mother moon. Infused with the energies of the full moon, this personal medicine piece may be used to connect more deeply to the powers of Mama Killa. In addition, it will be empowered to collect lunar illumination...it is your choice to work with these forces as you wish. We will practice a guided meditation/journey with the assistance of a 30" gong, traveling to the moon and request guidance, healing and blessings. There will be glue guns, glitter and ribbon!!
November 5: Feather Wands - working with Wayra - the Wind
To hold a feather wand is to hold the wind. It is to connect witht the winged ones that fly the realms above us. One may use a wand to clear dense, heavy energy - hucha - or you may use it to connect to spirit in a deeper way by holding it as you meditate.
This crafting class will invite the spirit of the wind and those that fly through it, to join us...we'll use journeywork to assist in the creation of your feather wand. If you know you want to attend this class- begin collecting your own feathers as part of your spiritual work (feathers supplied but please bring your own too).
December 3: Sweat Tea and Bath Salts: Staying Healthy and Sustaining Balance in Winter
Saturday, December 3: Making a Winter Brew for Balance: Sweat Tea & Bath Salts
Using folkloric recipes, join us to make a tea that encourages the movement of your own microcosmic water-landscape...in other words, get ready to sweat!
We will put prayers into special soaking salts, use journeywork to connect with the spirit of the herbal remedy and create a "sweat tea" that can be used the moment you feel like you're getting sick...to help push illness through your system. This class also includes a pumice stone harvested pray-fully from Mt. Shasta. You will leave with salts, tea and a stone. If not for you, then perhaps a gift basket for the holidays?
Cost: $45-$75 (sliding scale)
