Open Dialogue on Peruvian Shamanism & Slideshow on upcoming trip to Peru

  • St. Alban's Episcopal Church 1501 Washington Ave Albany, CA, 94706 United States

The focus of this trip will be both educational and ceremonial in nature and will be treated like a sacred pilgrimage or "active" retreat.  Specific focus will be placed on visiting and communing with some of the most sacred and beautiful ceremonial sites ever constructed by humankind.  We will be joined by leading experts in the field including Dr. Bonnie Glass-Coffin Ph.D. (expert in northern coastal Peruvian shamanism), and by Dr. Ruben Orellana Ph.D. (head of Archaeology at Machu Picchu/practicing shaman).  We will also be learning directly from master weaver Grimalda Quispe of Chinchero to witness the ancient techniques and practice known as Pallay.  don Augustine Machaka (pampa misayoq) will also be joining us from Ausangate, to offer a traditional Q'ero Earth Honoring Ceremony (despacho) from his homeland.  Note: There will also be two extended sections of this trip, which will be offered as additions to the existing itinerary, including a personally guided tour of Machu Picchu with Dr. Orellana (May 25-26), and a trip to the northern coast of Peru to work with the shamans and healers of that region as well (May 27 - June 4th).
